This condition has been persistent for three years... It gets better and then seems to break out overnight...any suggestions and will Fraxel make it worse? I take Oracea 40 mg daily and use Metronidazole gel on my face.

Answer: Perioral dermatitis and fractional lasers The basics of perioral dermatitis usually stem from an allergy to fluoride in toothpaste and mouthwash. Stop using that and about 90% of the time perioral dermatitis goes away. Find a toothpaste without fluoride like Tom's Natural. The Fraxel won't spread the perioral dermatitis, but since Fraxel can make the skin feel dry and tight, this is going to make the perioral dermatitis feel pretty terrible too.
