If you're unhappy with your final results after a chin implant you have 2 options:1) Get a different implant 2) Place filler on top of the implantPlacing a different sized implant will create a permanent solution. It is rather easy and quick procedure to place a different implant if the implant is made of silicone. If you have a Gortex or other type of implant, I would be more difficult to place a different implant. I hope this helps.
A chin asymmetry related to asymmetric underlying bone, implant malposition, large implant or all the above, may be addressed with appropriate implant and other adjustments needed. However, if you have asymmetry related to muscle weakness, cross bite, bite shift etc., it could not be corrected with implant removal/replacement. A consultation with an orthodontist and/or oral surgeon may be necessery before you decide to proceed with chin implant replacement. Good luck.
Dear jbalsamello, You would need to seen by a specialist for an evaluation to determine the cause of the asymmetry and whether it can be corrected. Best regards, Michael V. Elam, M.D.
Ten years after placement of your chin implant the asymmetry you describe will not resolve. Without pictures or ideally the opportunity to examine your chin it is impossible to offer suggestions to consider. Posible causes include underlying jaw asymmetry or implant malposition. If possible get a copy of your operative report.

There are a variety of techniques that can be used to augmented the chin and improve your profile. A more temporary approach includes dermal fillers (e.g., Sculptra, Voluma, and Radiesse), while fat grafting, use of permanent fillers (Aquamid, Bellafill ) and facial implants would offer a mo...
Your concern is a theoretical one that has no real clinical significance. With good surgical technique, the implant is placed with a layer of tissue between the implant and the bone. It’s a non-issue that you should not be concerned with in the least in making this decision. Best wishes.
A properly placed chin implant can improve and balance proportions and profile. The implant is designed to add projection to the chin as well as influence width and height. Other additional procedures to address a weak chin would be the use of facial fillers and/or liposuction. I would advise ha...
