Pracasil or Bio Corneum for scar treatment on nose?

I will be getting my stitches out soon from a mohs closure on my nose. My doctor uses Pracasil for scar treatment but I have also read a lot on my own about Bio Corneum being a popular option. I would just like the best possible outcome for my scar. Any suggestions for which product to choose?

Thank you for your question.  We are unaware of any direct head to head studies.  Plastic Surgeons have been using silicone sheeting for years. Our office likes BioCorneum very much and recommends it to patients like yourself with scars.  It is a silicone base, with additional medicine.  We believe that it helps get good results in our incisional lines.  We see it as continuing the care of the patient's wounds. We usually start it at 3 seeks post procedure.  It is medical grade and supposed to be found only in a Physician's office or hospital.  Please speak with your surgeon about his/her particular protocol.  Many surgeons have different protocols and get good results.  Please call with questions.Jeffrey J. Biocorneum is a great choice for surgical incisions and I use it routinely 2 weeks following Mohs closure, once all the sutures are out.  It is FDA approved for scar management as well.  Discusse your case with your surgeon and best of luck!
