Lipo Laser done by a newly trained Aesthetician. Is it safe?

There is a center that started doing it and it is done by an Aesthetician who said he just got trained and that " it is not a complicated thing". Is it safe to have a non doctor do this procedure for the chin area? I am concerned since it is a visible area. I am told no doctor performs this procedure, all done by people like him. How many procedures is needed to be proficient at this ?

Thank you for your question. The answer is a big NO, this is not a good idea, and not safe.  Numbers of procedures are not the issue to be skilled, going to medical school, surgical residency, those are the things to be looking at.  Get discounts on shoes, socks, not on body work.  Would you go to a dentist with 3 teeth? I hope this helps!

This question is ridiculous.  I have an entire practice dedicated to body shaping and perform 100s of liposuctions a year, the majority being revision cases because of people like you are describing. DO NOT let anyone without experience and expertise to touch your body or do any high risk procedure on you. This irritates me because there are many amazing physicians like myself with experience who treat this type of procedure with care and artistry, and then I hear about people like you are describing who are putting people at risk for poor outcomes. Thank you for this question. This is shocking to hear. This procedure should be done by appropriately board certified physician and not by esthetician. I am a board certified plastic surgeon and performed many of thes procedures. I disagree that no doctor performs this procedure. please be more careful before you consider any procedures in the future.
