I had a conservative amount of Restalyne injected into my cheeks yesterday. I like the cheeks. My concern is that for some reason the Dr injected a little down my the sides of my mouth, just above the jawline and it has rounded out the bottom of my face whereas before it tapered down to a point. Dr said won’t remove until at least a week because of swelling. I was thinking of calling around for another Dr to remove ASAP since I already know I don’t want it regardless of swelling. Thoughts?
Answer: Hyaluronidase Hi @Natural2011. Restylane can be dissolved immediately after injected if necessary. However, I would suggest waiting 1-2 weeks for swelling to subside. Best of luck, Dr. Nima

Answer: Early treatment is best Filler migration and permanence is a very common problem because there are many different types of HA fillers on the market and each is specified for a specific part of the face. Use of highly cohesive fillers on thin skin may cause swelling and nodularity. If patients have filler migration or nodules, we recommend a combination approach of filler reversal with enzymes Hylenex and Hyaluronidase in different strengths to dissolve the filler. We may also need to add Kenalog to the mix in order to reduce fibrous tissue. If the filler does not dissolve, it either means the filler is not HA material or we need more enzyme. The HA reversal can be combined with other lasers and skin treatments at the same time, and it usually (usually) does not affect adjacent tissue. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Best time to dissolve filler I appreciate your concern, but I believe your doctor is correct in suggesting that you wait for at least one week before thinking about having your filler dissolved. There is swelling and unevenness during the first few days that can interfere with your final result. If you are still unhappy once the week is up, it will be much easier to pinpoint the location of the filler you want dissolved once the swelling has subsided. Always work with an experienced, board-certified injector to ensure the best possible outcome from your filler treatments.

Answer: How soon after Restylane can it be dissolved? I would completely agree with the physician who treated you and wait at least a week before having any Restylane dissolved after it was injected. There is always some swelling after the injection and your appearance will still change over more time. It will also be more difficult to determine exactly where the dissolving agent needs to be placed while there is swelling present.
