How to treat filler edema and fluid retention without hyaluronidase?

Are these options appropriate? I LOVE the way my upper eye (under the brow bone) looks like with filler when it is not swollen or puffy. It tends to get puffy in the morning and sometimes it stays puffy. When it goes down, it looks amazing. Can oral diuretics help with water retention caused by HA filler? Can I take Arnica daily? Exercise? Massage the area? Drink herbal teas/caffeine? Is there anything I can do that will help with water retention/swelling other than having my filler dissolved? Thank you!

this is easily treated with at home rolling like my emerageskin roller weekly and peels like aerify. in the office we do fractora/morpheus, plasmapen, and RF facials.  Best, Dr. Emer.

I would not recommend starting yourself on diuretics as this can cause other problems and electrolyte imbalances. It is ok to take Arnica oral or use the cream on the effected areas. I would also suggest trying to sleep with your head elevated and see if that helps to reduce the edema you see in the morning. Reducing salt intake helps a great deal with swelling/edema.

The filler that is used in the upper eyelid has to be carefully chosen by the plastic surgeon. Juvederm is not a very good filler in this area is the swelling may be extremely prolonged. Even products such as wrestling have to be diluted and carefully added to this area. You did not say as to how long it has been since your injection. If it's only a few days, then I would sleep with your head on more pillows during the night and this will help you avoid the early morning blues so to speak. If it has been a long time since your treatment then you may just have to put up with the morning swelling. I hope this helps and good luck from New York City plastic surgery
