Will using lipo foam under my chin strap render better results? I did ask my doctor about it and he said it may and I could use it if I would like. I’m curious what other opinions on using it are. Beneficial or overkill?
Answer: Beneficial Lipo foams help evenly distribute the compression so it's beneficial to use them under your garment; not many patients decide to add them since they are bulky and add volume to the area but if you do not mind that they will definitely help your healing.

Answer: Postoperative protocol Dear Amatrau, I understand your concern. It is best that you consult your plastic surgeon regarding post operative care and management (i.e including massage techniques and timing) specific to your case. Your surgeon knows your condition well and has preferences on when and what to use for faster healing and recovery. Post operative care and management depends on the type of surgery performed and the technique used during surgery among other factors. It is best, however, that you follow your plastic surgeon's advice on post operative care management for a smooth and faster healing and recovery. Answer: Compression garments I’ve been doing this kind of work for a long time. Compression garments have no impact on the final outcome. There are only two variables that determine your outcome and those are your initial candidacy for the procedure combined with how the procedure was performed. if you were a good candidate and your surgeon did a good job then you’ll have a good outcome no matter what you do. once the procedure is completed there’s nothing you can do to change the results. We typically have patients where compression garments only when at home for the first two weeks and then you can stop wearing it for chin and neck liposuction but you should follow your doctors instructions.Chin and neck liposuction can give excellent results if done by a sufficiently talented surgeon and someone who’s a good candidate. 95+ percent of patients to seek this operation have a facial skeletal imbalance with a mandible that’s small compared to their maxilla. almost all people seeking this procedure have a dental occlusion overbite and I’m profile pictures their upper lip has more forward projection than the lower lip.The primary problem can still always be skeletal. Sometimes the secondary procedure like reducing fat works really well and sometimes it gives a partial result. That is often the case when the primary problem isn’t being addressed directly.Best,Mats Hagstrom MD
