The concerns you are expressing are very valid and actually very common as well amongst men and women. Starting at age 28, we actually lose collagen which leads to increased skin laxity, loss of volume, and hallowing in certain areas of the face. Genetics and environmental stressors plays a role in how our face ages as well. In your particular case, the downward smile can be fixed with a little toxin (i.e. botox, xeomin, dysport etc) injected to the muscle that controls the pull of the smile, and when it kicks in the smile will be turned upward. Adding a little filler to the chin/lip area will provide more balance in your lower face as well and restore some lost volume.
