Filler, liposuction or Kybella - which treatment option is the best choice for treating my double chin?

I am noticing that when I talk or move my head back slightly I can see a double chin. I was wondering for my face structure should I consider chin lipo, chin filler or kybella? I took screenshots of a video FaceTime call in the side you can somewhat see the fatty area under my chin. From the front when talking and I move my head back you can see the line of the double chin. Should I do chin filler, kybella, or chin lipo.

The best approach depends on whether the issue is primarily fat volume, skin laxity, or chin projection:

Kybella (deoxycholic acid injections): Works by dissolving small to moderate pockets of submental fat. It requires multiple sessions and is best suited for patients with good skin elasticity.

Chin liposuction: A more direct and immediate way to remove fat under the chin. It is typically the most effective option for moderate to larger amounts of submental fullness and can provide more dramatic contouring in a single procedure.

Chin filler: Does not remove fat but instead enhances chin projection. For patients with a smaller chin, filler can balance the profile and create the illusion of a slimmer neck and jawline.

In many cases, a combination of chin filler for projection and fat reduction (Kybella or lipo) provides the most balanced result. If the fullness is mainly due to fat and you want a definitive outcome, liposuction tends to be the most effective. If you prefer a non-surgical route and only have mild fat, Kybella can be considered.

If you have unwanted fatty deposits in your neck, depending on your examination, neck liposuction is the most direct way of improving upon a double chin appearance, and to improve upon a jawline appearance. I believe that you are a perfect candidate for Kybella injections.  1 or 2 sessions should help you achieve your goal of eliminating the "doulble chin."  If that is not enough or if you gain more volume in your neck then liposuction of your neck would be the next step.  Make sure to choose an expert facial plastic surgeon for your treatment. Fillers add volume, so this would not be appropriate for treatment here. Kybella shrinks fat but may leave you with loose, hangy skin. Liposiuction physically removes fat, but likewise result in loose, hangy skiin.
A submental Field Subcision, on the other hand, can not only break up the undesirable, excess fat deposit responsible for the bulge, but promotes new native collagen and elastic fiber synthesis that can result in skin tightening in that area. 
You would be wise to consult with an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist with extensive experience in performing subcisions. Exericise a very healthy amount of buyer beware skepticism when being hawked this or that expensive bells and whistles light, RF and other energy-based gizmo treatments as the hard science to support the use of these devices lags woefully behind the heavy marketing to promote these money-makers. Kybella is worthless and painful. Fillers do nothing for jawlines and double chins.  Lipo with facetite will give that amazing jawline and get rid of double chins on the neck easily and quickly.  In just 24 hrs you  look amazing after lipo.  Cost is roughly $5000 for quality work and so worth it.

Hi Britt! Dr. Ruter here from Syracuse Plastic Surgery in Syracuse NY. Great question, and a common one I get in my office. That fatty area under your chin is likely from one of two things: fat, or the platysma muscle laxity. I don't use Kybella. It is expensive, unpredictable, and requires multiple treatments to accomplish something that liposuction could do faster for less money and downtime. Don't even get me started on the serious bruising that Kybella causes. Eek! In or office some patients are candidate for liposuction alone, or in combination with Renuvion that tightens the skin and its connections under the surface of the skin. Talk to your local plastic surgeon about your treatment options, but do yourself a favor and stay away from Kybella.
