BBL continues to shrink after 5 months - why?

bbl done by a board certified plastic surgeon who preforms them routinely i had 1300 cc injected I'm now 5mths post and I still been shrinking it's also still sore at times from sitting. I have tons of unevenness.No one can tell I had a bbl it's just a little fuller I called the office & sent pics, they said doctor said I need a round 2 for an additional $6,000 I'm so unhappy.Considering round 2 with a different doctor Why does it keep shrinking I don't want it to happen again ? So confused

Miss LatinaSo sorry you are having trouble after your surgery.  I will say two things.  The first is that only about 60% of the fat injected will remain after a fat transfer.  This number varies between surgeons, techniques, and individual patient variables but is a good ball park number.  Typically that reabsorption takes place in the first 3-6 months.  So you will see some loss of volume from that.  Also, surgery itself causes a lot of swelling.  That swelling takes up to 6 months to resolve.  So as the swelling goes down, the size may shrink as well.  That being said, some women need more than one round.  This could be because there wasn't enough fat the first time around, the surgery was going to take too long, or the amount of fat liposuctioned was more than the state laws allow or more than the surgeons comfort level was.  Many women need at least one revision after BBL, so don't worry too much that something horrific was done.  I can't speak to what you are being charged and what the financial arrangements are with you and your surgeon.  In my practice, the second round of fat grafting would be less expensive than the first, and I would typically offer the patient a discount as well.  Good Luck in your journey
