BWD 11 cm , Motiva Ergonomix demi 340cc

Question

My bwd is 11cm. The doctor wants to put me on the motiva ergonomix 360cc, which has a diameter of 12.25 cm. How much wider can the implant be placed in relation to my bwd? I don't want to put them that big anyway. 320 cc (11.75cm) would be ideal for me if possible. I am 158cm and 50kg. A cup and I want a small C cup.

Hi from Istanbul.Breast implants should be in proper diameter when the breast width is calculated with extracting the breast tissue thickness. You must have a tiny body so I would recommend you a smaller size implant, it would maybe less than 320cc. When the diameter of the implant is larger then the breast width, the implants may be visible from the sides and it may give an unnatural look. Best Luck!

It is always best to choose an implant which most closely matches your base width.  An implant with a wider base width will tend to sit more laterally causing a "side boob" effect.  The Ergonomix implant is designed to have a teardrop or anatomic shape which is more natural in comparison to the more firm gel in the round implant.

Thank you for your question.  I like to keep the implant base diameter within +/- 0.5 cm of the breast diameter.  An implant with a diameter of 12.25cm might be a little wide/tall for your breast, which could result in a variety of challenges, including rippling, overdissection of the breast causing symmastia or too much "side-boob", double bubble, sensation changes, etc.  Keep in mind that various surgeons measure base width differently - I may measure a breast at 12 cm that another surgeon sees as an 11 cm diameter, so there is a fair bit of variability in the process.  Having said that, this is YOUR augmentation and the surgeon should respect your priorities.  If you feel that you are not being heard, or that the surgeon wants to use an implant bigger than you desire, seek another opinion.  Best of luck!
