After I started Botox I experienced hearing loss in one ear and vertigo that comes and goes. Does Botox cause inner ear issues?

Every few months. My ENT says it’s not the Botox that I get for crows feet. ENT thinks it’s allergy problems or Maniere’s disease. I just started allergy shots but I’m due my Botox (6months). Ear seems great for a while now. Not sure if I should get Botox again.

Hi. Thanks for asking the question. There is no known relation between botox injections, hearing loss and vertigo. You should be safe to get botox again.

Thanks for your question. At this time, there is no known relation between Botox and meniere’s or vertigo in general. I do think it’s safe to get Botox again. That being said, meneire’s disease can have various triggers, so if it happens again, I would avoid Botox. Good luck!

With something as serious as hearing loss and vertigo, you must have an MRI to rule out other, more serious problems such as an acoustic neuroma. Good luck from New York City
