Is topical Finasteride less effective for someone with an oily scalp?

I've been using topical finasteride 1mg for six months, but I still losing my hair. I see that I have some baby hairs are growing up. I use biotin 10000. I take one pill every day. As well, I'm just wondering if it's okay to use 1.5mg of topical finasteride instead.

According to some studies, finasteride and dutasteride might affect metabolism and could reduce the body's response to insulin, an early sign of type 2 diabetes. Men who start these drugs may need additional monitoring, especially if they have other risk factors for type 2 diabetes.

There is some evidence that heavy weight lifting can increase testosterone. This would increase testosterone and may cause hair loss with a fairly active alpha reductase enzyme producing DHT . My suggestion would be to add a DHT blocker.
