Best option to remove my mole? Will scarring look worse than mole now? (photo)

Question

I have had this flesh colored mole my whole life and am now interested in getting it removed. I am worried that the scar will look wore than the mole itself. I am curious to how the healing process would be for my mole and what the best removal option is. Thanks. A price estimate would be great as well. The mole is on my cheek.

Mole removal begins with a comprehensive examination and consultation to determine the likelihood of a mole being worrisome. Excisional and incisional biopsies are reserved for suspicious moles. But it’s good news that most moles are not problematic and are only cosmetic, thus leading to the option of scarless or non-surgical mole removal with lasers and RF and plasma. Shaving a flesh colored mole flat usually gives the best cosmetic results and is so easy to undergo for roughly $175-250 under local.

With a fleshy mole like yours in the mid face I always prefer to do a shave removal. The area is numbed with a local anesthetic and then the raised area is shaved off at the level of the surrounding skin. I feel this gives the most cosmetic result. Although the mole may raise again after years, the resulting scar will more likely be less visible. It's a quick and inexpensive procedure and if the mole does grow back a little after years can be repeated with great results. If you opt to excise the mole with sutures, you will have a scar that will show more in my opinion.

imperceptible...but if you're not so lucky it may be more noticeable...you always take a chance, however small, that a surgical removal may not turn out the way you want...the choice is yours but I'd always err on the side of caution...
