Would CoolSculpting work for me? Should I still consider a BBL? (photos)

Question

Hello, I am 5' 8", 185 pounds, BMI 28.5, 33 years old. I was a good candidate for a BBL until my medical history came across. I had a mini stroke 3 hears ago, due to overdose of birth control; Now my doctor won't do the BBL on me, even though I am clear from the stroke issue, I got everything checked including my heart inside and out. I am not taking any medication, I don't have any medical problems, I don't smoke. Should I still consider a BBL? Or would Coolsculpting work for me?

Thank you for your question and your photos. A BBL is a two-step process that removes fat from one area of the body and transfers it to the buttocks to create more shape and fullness. CoolSculpting is restricted to fat reduction. The treated fat cells crystallize so they can be eliminated through your body’s lymphatic system. They cannot be used for fat transfer. 
If your primary goal is to reduce fat, CoolSculpting might be a good option, but you would need many sessions. By sculpting some areas of the body, your buttocks might look somewhat fuller. If buttock augmentation is your first priority, you might be a candidate for Sculptra injections. Sculptra could be added to your buttocks should you desire mild to moderate enhancement. I would schedule a consultation with an experienced, board-certified dermatologist with expertise in body contouring. Through a discussion of your concerns and goals, and a full rundown of your medical history, your doctor can determine what procedure will be safe and still give you the results you want. You may also be a candidate for tumescent liposuction, which is the safest way to perform liposuction. Sometimes, this procedure can be performed when other methods are deemed unsafe. Please get another consultation with a board-certified dermatologist who performs tumescent liposuction. Then you can utilize the fat for buttock augmentation!

Thank you for your question. Based on your photos, you may be a good candidate for Coolsculpt, a non-invasive fat reduction treatment. You'll most likely need multiple sessions of Coolsculpt to achieve your desired result. If you're also looking for a more sculpted buttocks, you'll need to look into additional services- Coolsculpt will not address that concern. There are many non-invasive butt lift options such as electomagnetic therapy or fillers. I recommend an in person evaluation with your local expert provider- they will determine the best treatment plan for your concern. Hi There, Thank you for your question and pictures. CoolSculpting is a procedure focused on removing stubborn pockets of fat. It would not provide the same results as a BBL. You may want to consider CoolTone. This treatment builds muscle and makes the butt fuller and lifted. Please consult with a local physician in person to determine if you are a candidate. ideal weight, healthy, and have small pockets of diet and exercise resistant fat that you want to get rid of, this could be the treatment for you. And based on your photos you are CoolSculpting candicate.

If you have small problem areas you can use non invasive methods like Coolsculpting with Vanquish or trusculpt iD to get small areas of fat reduced. Skin also tightens if you combine this with Exilis Ultra, Venus Legacy, and Inmode Forma/Contoura radiofrequency treatments. You boost the results from Coolsculpting if you add in Kybella injections to melt fat as well.  We often combine Coolsculpting with shock therapy like ZWave, EVIVE, and Cellutone to get even faster results, more improvement, and less risk of combinations like nodules, swelling, neuropathy or paradoxical hyperplasia. Coolsculpting often takes a few treatments separated 8 to 12 weeks apart to get significant improvement.   However, to get the most fat removal, contouring, skin tightening and definition, a VASER HI-DEF liposuction / liposculpture procedure with ThermiRF, Renuvion (J-Plasma), InMode BodyTite and fat grafting is your best bet. Thank you for your question and posting your pictures. Coolsculpting or Coolsculpting with Vanquish Me (Fire & Ice) should give you a marked improvement without any surgical risk or complications. Both Coolsculpting and Vanquish Me cause cellular fat death while preserving the adjacent tissues. We combine the two with Low Intensity Shock Wave Therapy (Z Wave) which has been shown to improve the results of these treatments by up to 50% at one month.If your heart is set on having a BBL performed, I would recommend getting a medical clearance from your primary physician with a full workup for a hypercoagulable state. I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.

From your photos it would seem that you would be a good coolsculpting candidate.  You will require several rounds of treatment to get the best results. We use the BTL cellutone to enhance results from coolsculpting. You may  also want to combine the coolsculpting with a skin tightening procedure to get the best results.

For anyone that may not be an ideal surgical candidate due to health history, Coolsculpting is a great non-surgical option. Without an examination and consultation in person, it's difficult to say how many cycles would be ideal but from your photos it appears that you would potentially be a good candidate for treatment on your abdomen and flanks (sides).  Coolsculpting can help you sculpt your mid section without risking your health-- It's been proven to be a safe and effective treatment.
