Can I Continue Whitening While Healing from Dental Implant Surgery Since I Don't Have a Fake Tooth Yet?

it is better to wait until your follow up appointment with your surgeon and removal of the stitches. This will usually take about 2-3 weeks.   you want to make sure that the incision lines have closed and that there is no infection.  Bleaching materials, including the bleaching mouth rinses, could compromise healing. Also a prescription mouth rinse (Chlorhexidine Glucanate ) that is usually prescribed after implant surgery,  stains teeth.  So better to wait and then bleach to get rid of stains.....

Just remember that whenever a surgical procedure is performed, it is SURGERY.  I would not recommend bleaching during a 2 week healing period after implant placement because bleach, whether in the form of hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide, contains free radicals that could possibly harm the soft tissue.  I recommend waiting but speak to your surgeon before you decide.  Good luck and keep us informed.

Wait for three weeks after the surgery. It is preferred there is no pressure to the soft tissue from the trays.

Show the bleaching trays to the implant surgeon to make sure they do not impinge on the surgery site. Also, he will tell you how long to wait to allow initial healing of site before using the bleach.
