What is considered dangerous sun exposure after blepharoplasty?

Sun exposure to an incision after surgery, including blepharoplasty, can prolong the healing and sometimes discolor the scar.  If you are going to be traveling to a sunny location after blepharoplasty, I would recommend you wear a hat and sunglasses.  This should help to minimize your exposure.

There are some post surgical reactions which could happen in the first few months, and sun exposure could make these worse. So, reduce your sun exposure with the usual things- a hat, sunglasses, sun cream. I would advise you to use these things even if you had not had surgery to protect your skin from the detrimental effects of the sun.As I always advise patients- you trusted your Plastic Surgeon to do your surgery.
