Profound, Facetite or Sofwave for lower face laxity, slight sunken cheeks?

Hello, I am 52 years old with olive complexion and dark hair. I am slender, and recently noticed laxity and volume loss in the lower cheeks. I don’t have much wrinkles. Please comment on the devices Facetite, Profound and Softwave. The doctors I spoke to don’t have all three, and whatever they have in their office, they say it’s the best — which is natural, since that’s the reason they acquired it in the first place. Hoping someone can compare these 3 devices objectively. Many thanks!

All of these devices are based on radiofrequency waves but Profound is  stronger for jowls  because it provides RF waves through deep microneedles and each pulse lasts around 4 seconds so the end result (6 months after procedure) is great.

All three are good for laxity. However, tightening the skin will not correct volume loss. I would suggest treating the volume  loss first. This may address some of the laxity. If you still need tightening, I prefer the Profound as its stronger than the others and one session usually suffices.

Hi RSM,
Great question.  I have Profound RF and use it in patients with your aesthetic goals.  All three devices are very good.  They are not commodities, in other words, they are tools that must be used properly in well trained and experienced hands.  therefore, make sure to choose your treating physician very carefully!  There are pros and cons in each of the technologies.  The pros of Facetite are that it gives nice results, and is minimally invasive.  The cons are that it is the most invasive of the three, involves small incisions with the placement of the handpiece bellow the surface of the skin, may have some bleeding, there is some downtime with bandages, and can result in scarring that is difficult to reverse.  Sofwave is high intensity focused ultrasound that lifts and tightens the skin and muscles with a totally non-invasive treatment.  Sofwave is a similar technology to Ulthera, which I do use in our office.  The pros are that it is safe, effective, little to no down time,  and involves topical non-invasive treatment.  The cons are that the results are more subtle than the radiofrequency treatments (Profound RF and Facetite.)  Lastly, Profound RF's pros are that results are great, it is very safe without significant complications, effective, and stimulates Elastin production.  The cons are significant swelling and bruising for 5 to 7 days, and the results continue to improve over 9 months.  I combine PRP, Sculptra, and fractional laser with Profound RF treatments to maximize my patients aesthetic results.
