Breast Reduction and Hidradenitis suppurativa - how to get started, what to expect?

The first thing to do is schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. Have your physician send over all office notes, testing, etc. pertaining to your breast area. The plastic surgeon then will submit all documents ( including his/her) to your insurance company. It can take 6 to 8 weeks to hear back with an approval or denial. Good luck!

Hidradenitis typical occurs in the axillary area or groin area. What you have may not truly be HS but chronic irritation from moisture in that area. In either event a breast reduction may improve the situation by removing that skin and ire venting further irritation
