I am 2 years post op from a silicone under muscle breast augmentation from an A cup to a D cup. My right breast continued to remain higher set and more constricted than my left.Today, my boyfriend grabbed the right breast pretty hard to where my breast now feels and looks significantly less constricted. I'm concerned the silicone implant may have ruptured. I still feel the implant in there, but my breast is a little tender and more...squishy for lack of a better word. Should I be concerned?
Answer: Possible implant rupture Thanks so much for your question. It sounds as if the scar tissue capsule around the actual implant may now be ruptured. That is a very common story for what you just discribed. The implant may or may not also be ruptured. I would recommend that you see a plastic surgeon. They might be able to tell by a physical exam or they may need to order a specific X-ray to evaluate things. Hope his helps. Good luck.

Answer: Possible rupture silicone implant It would be very unlikely that your implant is ruptured because these implants are very strong. If the breast softness has occurred after your boyfriend squeezed your breast, you most likely ruptured the capsule around your implant which can make your breast feel softer but the only way to determine if they are broken is an MRI. I would watch your breast for changes over the next 6 months to see if it changes. The most likely change would be a capsular contracture meaning the breast gets firmer.
