Don't like composite veneers, should I replace for porcelain?

I put composite on teeth that broke and I didn't like it, it feels like plastic and isn't strong, it's horrible to put your tongue on, would veneers be better

Hello, My name is Dr Tyler Hales and I am a cosmetic dentist located in Orange County, California. Composite veneers are a great temporary option but do discolor over time and wear and chip easier. If its only one tooth and a small chip, I normally recommend a composite to replace it. Sometimes it may just need some smoothing or adjustment to feel more normal. If it is bigger and never feels comfortable, porcelain veneers will feel more natural when done correctly. Porcelain will last longer and be stronger. The thing about porcelain is you may have to prep the teeth a little bit more and I recommend always doing an even number so that it matches from the left to the right side.
