I now have small dark brown marks after laser treatment. Is this normal?

After laser treatment to reduce thread veins on my cheeks and some brown age spots, I now have small brown marks on my cheeks and some of the age spots have turned a darker brown. Will this improve and fade away? I have used Aloe Vera Gel for a week and am now using my No. 7 moisturiser. Is this correct.

you may have post inflammatory hyperpigmentation that needs evaluation and proper treatment including lasers, skin lightening, and microsecond yag (Aerolase) lasers.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Depends on what you had done, and when it was done.  If you had IPL for the brown spots, you want them to get darker and then flake off.  This takes about a week to 10 days

This darkened superficial skin should peel within a few days . If persistent the q switched yag laser can safely lighten dark skin.

Depending on the laser that was used and your skin color, brown spots can be normal after procedure.  However, sometimes with some lasers that are not suitable for all skin types it can leave a post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.  You may want to check with your doctor who did the procedure and ask if using hydroquinone 4% in the affected areas to lighten the brown spots will be beneficial.
