Would I qualify for Medicaid breast reduction? (Photo)

Question

I am 22, mother of a 3 year old, not working currently.. I wear a F/G bra, I am completely uncomfortable with my body and in pain all the time. I can't run without my breast slamming down on me. I'm at a loss for words. I've changed my stance/ posture, new shoes, how I sleep. Nothing permanently changed to my agonizing shoulder back pain. I can't afford to pay for a full breast reduction. But I am on Medicaid, would I qualify for a reduction?

With today's insurance plans under the ACA, less and less insurance companies cover breast reduction surgery despite if you may have symptoms such as painful bra strap grooving, neck, shoulder and back pain overly large breasts. However, I suggest contacting your insurance company and asking exactly what is and isn't covered in regards to treating macromastia with a breast reduction. If  they do offer coverage then ask for a list of in network providers whom you can then contact to set up an appointment and consultation with to address your concerns.

Based on your measurements and photo most insurance plans would cover your breast reduction, including Medicaid.  Most insurance companies require a predetermination before proceeding with surgery, but this is not the case with Medicaid.  This may vary from state to state, however.  The difficult thing may be finding an experienced board certified plastic surgeon that accepts Medicaid.  Hopefully this helps-
