Dr. Jessica Krant is very knowledgeable and a caring dermatologist. I’ve been seeing her for several years and feel fortunate to have her as my dermatologist. She listens and discusses; which is so important when your face is in her hands.
Dr. Krant is an artist. Though I have had fillers etc before with different practitioners, this time was different. I am in my late 60’s and Dr. Krant took more than 5 years away from my face. I look natural and refreshed. I felt like a canvas as she stepped away and looked at me, scrutinizing her work, making repeated adjustments. She made suggestions to achieve a more youthful result, and explained what the benefits would be and the changes I would see. I have found my doctor, and know who to trust going forward as I age.
Great results. I had a small tattoo on my chest that previous laser treatments could not remove due to the greenish/ blue color. After about 4 treatments with Dr. Krant the tattoo is gone. If you look very very close the skin's pigment is now slightly lighter and there is some greenish cast which looks similar to the normal color of veins below the skin. It all looks perfectly normal from a foot or more away. I couldn't be happier with the results!
So glad I chose Dr.Krant to perform my tattoo removal with the PicoSure laser. She is an absolute pleasure. I did my first session at her old office on the upper east side. For that procedure we used a combination of lidocaine cream and ice packs to minimize the pain of the laser which worked fairly well, but there was still minor discomfort. However, at her new office in kips bay they use novocaine injections so the procedure is 100% painless! After only two sessions I am already thrilled with the amount of clearance. For reference, my tattoo is black ink only, professionally done, and on my inner bicep (will post pictures later). PicoSure is the way to go! $400 a session is pricey but money is no object for me when it comes to removing this tattoo I hate.
I started coming to Dr. Krant for general skin issues -- acne, keratosis pilaris, sun damage, etc. She saw me every couple months until all my unpleasant skin issues had been completely resolved -- my acne is completely gone, redness and texture issues resolved with antibacterial facewash and other topical treatments. But I still felt like my skin was dull and that the texture was bad for someone my age and I was self conscious when not wearing makeup. Dr. Krant recommended Laser Genesis to help improve redness and the appearance of large pores. The treatment is 6 sessions, costs under $2500 if you purchase all six at once, each session takes under 30 minutes and, best of all, you can go right to work after a session -- there is no downtime (your face will feel warm and be a little flushed for a few hours, but makeup covered that up easily and it was no different than how you might look on a warm day). I just had my last session, and I have been able to tell a huge difference since my 3rd or 4th session. My skin is smoother, less red and luminous. It is a subtle effect, but I definitely notice it in that my makeup goes on more evenly and I look better without makeup. Even my husband noticed that my skin texture is better. Its the perfect treatment for someone my age who is just noticing a slight decline in skin quality -- it wound back the clock a few years to my mid twenties, is affordable and isn't invasive.
I have "crows feet" lines around my eyes and wanted to get rid of them. My appointment with Dr. Krant was great. I had called a few other doctors before scheduling an appointment with her. All had consultation fees higher than what my treatment ended up costing (i.e. a "one-size-fits-all" policy that definitely did not make sense for me). You know how sometimes you get the feeling a doctor is trying to set things up so your bill is as high as possible? Definitely was not my experience with Dr. Krant - in and of itself, a big plus. I feel like a lot of doctors go for the jugular with cosmetic procedures and try to charge insane amounts. Not only did Dr. Krant not do that, she took the time to explain every aspect of my procedure, was emphatic that I could call at any point afterward if I have any questions, and was just generally a nice, caring, intelligent practitioner. I could not have asked for a better experience. Will absolutely be seeing her again.
So far I have had 3 procedures with the Picosure tattoo removal with Dr. Krant and I have to say I am so pleased, not only with the results but with Dr. Krant. I had done a regular laser treatment 3 times and my tattoo was faded a bit, but the results just weren't there. I found out about Picosure and Dr. Krant and after my consultation I knew I was in the right place. She's amazing - friendly, knowledgeable, and everyone on staff is very friendly! I would recommend Dr. Krant to anyone looking for ANY cosmetic procedure she offers. You will not be sorry. I don't have any pictures but after 3 treatments my tattoo is extremely faded. I will post a before and after once we are done with session 5. The cost is expensive - my tattoo is very large...for others it may vary...so far I have spent $1750. I plan on spending another $1200.
I highly recommend Dr. Krant and the PicoSure tattoo removal process! I have a solid black tattoo about the size of my palm which I have had a very difficult and painful time trying to get it removed. I previously had 6 traditional laser removal treatments at another clinic, over a 1 year period with little success. The traditional laser treatments also caused significant blistering and scabbing and the removal procedure was excruciating. By the time I found Dr. Krant, I was skeptical about the results and was pretty much resigned to having a weird half-faded tattoo forever. Dr. Krant and the PicoSure laser gave me hope again! The PicoSure laser breaks up the ink much more quickly and blasts it into smaller fragments than a traditional laser can. The laser treatment procedure is done much more quickly, there is hardly any pain, and I did not experience any blistering! From one treatment, my tattoo faded as much or if not more than 6 treatments with a traditional laser! I am excited now to continue, and confident that I will not have to live with this awful tattoo much longer. Aside, from the procedure Dr. Krant is amazing, and she is one of the few dermatologists in the country to have a PicoSure laser! Her office is clean, quiet, and relaxing. The receptionist and nurse are also very friendly and helpful. One thing that I really love about Dr. Krant is she never keeps me waiting for ages in the waiting room. I always get in right at my appointment time (a rare thing these days), and she has even seen me early on a day that I arrived before my scheduled appointment time. She is friendly and thoroughly discusses the procedure with you; she is patient and willing to discuss any concerns you may have at length. I have also seen Dr. Krant for Restylane injections which turned out beautifully--this was my first time having any cosmetic procedures of this nature done, and I was very nervous. She eased all my concerns and made sure I was comfortable before proceeding. I honestly have no negative feedback for this doctor. I am so excited about the tattoo removal results from PicoSure, love the refreshed look the Restylane treatments have given me, and I also see Dr. Krant for normal dermatological issues. My fiancé has also started seeing Dr. Krant after seeing how happy I have been with her treatment.
Was uneventful and effective. It filled out lines around my mouth and hollow under my eyes and a little in my cheeks. The difference was subtle but good. I was a bit bruised for a week or so but that was it. I felt confident and positive. She used 2 vials of Perlaine to my cheeks and 2 vials of Juvederm to the under eyes and mouth. I felt she could have added more but she wanted to go slowly until I knew what it was like.
This is my second Dysport treatment. I decided to try this option, because I had bad experience with Botox injections. I found out that the Dysport lasted longer and spreads out more. It minimized the line in my forehead something that Botox didn't do. After my doctor carefully listened to my Botox nightmares she suggested that I try out the Dysport injection. When I look in the mirror I feel satisfied. This is the best decision I have ever made. Updated on 5 Sep 2013: It has been almost two weeks since my Dysport treatment and it is still effective. I love this treatment best, it works better than Botox. I see immediate results and line improvements. I will continue to utilize this treatment.
SculpSure applicators can easily be applied to avoid surgical scars, but can treat the immediately adjacent area, which helps to smooth and even out abdominal surgery areas. Because the applicators can be placed in any number of various positions for a given treatment session, this is quite easy. The key is treatment area selection and planning, and is best decided together in person with your experienced SculpSure physician.
SculpSure does not officially claim to tighten the skin, but for the small areas of reduction it works on, it generally does tighten the skin a bit. More importantly, skin that is not too thin or loose already will generally snap back into a good shape after the treatment on its own. The right areas for fat reduction and decisions about whether the skin will tighten properly can only be made in person with your experienced SculpSure physician. The nice thing about SculpSure is that it can be used in smaller areas of unwanted fat or in areas that are not shaped well to fit into the CoolSculpting vacuum handpiece, since there is no suction.
Sculpsure laser fat reduction can be used in any area of unwanted fat, but this decision should be carefully made with an experienced physician. It is technically only FDA approved for belly and love handles, but legally doctors can apply it to other areas of the body. Discuss pros and cons of each treatment area with your SculpSure physician and understand that more than one session may be needed to achieve desired results. Good luck!
The SculpSure device does not yet have an applicator that fits the small under chin area, but we look forward to its development. Zeltiq's CoolSculpting has the CoolMini for that area, for moderate to larger pockets of unwanted fat, and a great alternative for those not comfortable with CoolMini or with less fat in the area, is the injectable fat melter Kybella.
I have been loving SculpSure because it is more versatile than CoolSculpting and works fast with similar results. Unlike CoolSculpting, no flesh needs to be sucked into a vacuum device, so smaller pockets of unwanted fat can be easily treated even if they are too small or the wrong shape for CoolSculpting. The procedure is fast and only temporarily uncomfortable for about 60 seconds. Even my most sensitive patients have flown through it with ease. Because small, flatter contour areas can easily be treated, it is perfect for post-tummy tuck bellies as well.
