The type of Leukemia I have will never go away. My levels will be normal, as long as I take my daily chemo pill. My oncologist released me to have my gallbladder out because she was pleased with how my Leukemia levels were. Does this make me ineligible for a breast augmentation or mommy makeover?

Having a chronic disease is not an automatic exclusion for surgery, but I would recommend a discussion with your oncologist regarding the safety of considering elective surgery. If you have a plastic surgeon in mind, he or she can also speak to the oncologist to discuss what the surgery involves, as most oncologists may not understand the details of the surgery.

After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of former patients with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants. My patients tell me that this process is very helpful in determining what size breast implant is right for them. They also get to see what they would look like when the implants have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes.
