3 months post op - Pain after Benelli Lift with implants.

As my colleagues have stated, even though the same procedure is done on each side, swelling, bruising, pain, visible vessels, etc. are almost NEVER the same. But without knowing the details of surgery that only your surgeon knows, and without physical examination or even a photo, no online consultant can do much but reassure without knowing if that is appropriate, or speculate about potential problems we might have seen and dealt with.Any time there is significant disparity between sides and how they feel and are recovering, recheck is appropriate.That is what you own surgeon is for, and why you should contact him/her immediately for an appointment and personal evaluation. You do have two different breasts, different size implants, and use your arms differently. It is not unusual for one breast to settle a little more quickly than the other breast. I would suggest discussing your concerns with your plastic surgeon. Tissue massage, anti-inflammatory drugs like Motrin, and time to allow healing will also be helpful.

Post operative pain is usually not symmetric.  The pain can come from irritation of the nerves that supply the breast.  It is not permanent and will get better over time. 

Postoperative pain after breast lift around nipple areola complex is not uncommon. Once the periareolar incision is made, it takes time for the little nerves to heal..The main nerve supple is from the 4th intercodstal on that side which can be effected by the dissection. Usually the purse-string suture used around the areola is of a permanent nature to prevent widening of the NAC complex. You mention incision pain on left with puffy nipple and hard ring at incision but then state no problems on left. You should definately follow up with your original surgeon and allow them to examine you. Very rarely does the permanent suture cause pain, but I have seen them work their way to the surface.
