Clear and Brilliant 2-3 weeks before SMAS Facelift?

Question

Can I get a clear and brilliant permea treatment (for mild melasma on cheeks) 2-3 weeks before my SMAS facelift or should I wait until after? If after, how long? Thank you!

Hello JK.  We would not have as concern with you doing Clear & Brilliant two weeks before your facelift.  We WOULD have a concern with you using any laser based treatment for Melasma because light based treatments can sometimes make it worse.  Melasma has no cure so at our practice we have found that using 8% hydroquinone is the most affordable, convenient (no treatment visits) and effective way to control Melasma.  Because there is no cure, your Melasma will return so our thought is why use a more expensive treatment plan that takes up more of your time and has the added risk of making your Melasma worse?
