I was cleaning my very deep bellybutton, and the cotton from the end of the QTip came off deep inside?

My bellybutton was itchy so I cleaned it with alcohol and then peroxide. I was using a generic QTip. I am a large person, and cannot reach the end of my bellybutton. It seems bottomless, and forms a very small hole about 2 inches in. Is it ok to leave in there? I tried making it more lubricated by putting hand sanitizer in it, but I still couldn't get it out. If you have a full abdominoplasty, there is no way to preserve the belly button. If you have a mini abdominoplasty the belly button will likely survive.

Sounds like you had a seroma that spontaneously drained. probably not dangerous but worth checking in with your plastic surgeon.

Uncommon and unfortunate, tissue necrosis generally heals on its own. It may need some surgical debridement by your plastic surgeon (although it does not appear to need any now). Best of luck.

Unfortunately it looks as though your belly button did not have enough blood flow after surgery, and the skin has died.
