Can QWO be used off label for post liposuction fibrosis deformity?

QWO is a Collagenase injection FDA approved for the treatment of Cellulite. It can be used for off label uses. I am not aware of any reports of Qwo use for the treatment of liposuction fibrosis deformity. However, it is conceivable that Qwo may be helpful in the treatment of liposuction fibrosis. The QWO enzymes work by disrupting the fibrous bands that are responsible for creating the cellulite dimple. QWO has not been studied to treat post liposuction fibrosis deformity or scars. I would suggest scheduling a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss alternative options.

Qwo is currently FDA approved to address moderate to severe cellulite of the buttocks. There are clinical trials underway for other potential treatment areas, but at this time it is designated for the buttocks only.

Its efficacy and safety for the use of post-liposuction fibrosis or use in the abdomen have not been studied. Qwo is new to the market. However, in general, within the practice of medicine, physicians can use products off-label. I do not know if anyone would feel comfortable using Qwo off-label in the manner you described.
