Prolapsed lacrimal gland repair. Is this a failed surgery? (Photo)

This photo is 6 weeks post op. I'm concerned that the lacrimal gland was not actually repositioned as intended. It was supposed to be sutured behind the brow bone, but I can clearly see and feel the gland through my eyelid. Is this a failed surgery?

You have post operative swelling.  The alcohol and smoking are not helping your situation.  Also spring allergies may be contributing to the problem.  Elevation of the head and cool compresses will help.  You have not ruined your surgery.  Follow up with your surgeon....

Yes, you might feel some lumps and bumps until the fat softens. Best of luck and if concerned, talk to you surgeon.

I advise you to avoid steroid injections to the scar unless it starts to get lumpy. Steroid can make the skin thin and atrophic and then the vessels will show through excessively.
