When using fillers like silicone and PMMA injected in large quantities, they have a high tendency to migrate away from the original area they were placed and stimulate large amounts of inflammation and a subsequent disastrous amount of scar tissue/hardening and/or infection. Indeed pain may be an initial indication of a complication evolving so i highly recommend you consult with a board certified plastic surgeon specialist in buttock augmentation. Glad to help.
The problem with large volumes of polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) injections is that injection through skin (even washed and iodine-prepped skin) CAN in some cases still lead to infected or contaminated microbeads that are not living tissue nor perfused by blood vessels, and therefore unable to defend against bacterial invasion leading to pain and inflammation.Antibiotics or steroids might help for a while but are rarely "curative," and one reason these materials are not recommended for buttock augmentation or FDA approved in the USA. You now have a (potential) problem which is or may be difficult to treat.Seek consultation with one or more ABPS-certified plastic surgeons. Those at major medical institutions or academic plastic surgery programs will be a good choice. Best wishes and good luck. Dr. Tholen
Pmma injections into buttock can cause infections, migration, cysts...i personally would be very hesitant to inject pmma in large quantities...schedule an appointment with the surgeon who injected the material....best of luck to you.Dr Terry Higgins
Permanent or semi-permanent injectables can cause chronic pain and disfigurement. You have to weigh your symptoms against what it really means to have surgery to remove these substances. Many times, it makes more sense to leave things as they are. Please find an experienced, senior plastic surgeon who has had experience removing long-term injectables.Best of luck,Mats Hagstrom, M.D.

Hello Tae76, I certainly understand your concerns. Injectable silicone used for body contouring is not FDA-approved and can cause serious side effects that may be permanent or may even lead to death. Side effects can include ongoing pain and serious injuries, such as scarring, tissue death,...
Poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) beads are tiny thermoplastic microspheres in a collagen filler marketed under the trade name Artefill. This is the only FDA-approved PMMA filler product in the USA marketplace, and has been used as a filler designed to be semi-permanent, since the beads do not...
I don't think that any of us can answer this questions. Give your surgeon a call at the office. I am sure that he/she can advise you. While you have this "doctor" on the phone. make sure to ask them exactly what was injected into your body and how much. This may be information that you will need...
It is ok that you do not have much income. It is also ok to achieve your desired body shape without expensive surgery. In other words, most of my patients have exhausted health and fitness options prior to presenting for surgical enhancement and i myself am a huge advocate of that. Glad to help...
