I would like facial fillers but am so worried about blindness if the doctor hits a vein. I have been told it really is guess work where veins are on the face - everyone is different Some doctors use the accuvein device. This shows where the veins are so takes out the guess work and makes fillers safer. Why arn't all doctors using this? Is there a doctor near me in the London/Essex/Hertfordshire area who is using the device. Thank you

Answer: Veins Hey there - thanks for the question! Blocking a vein with filler will not cause blindness, but a knowledge of the anatomy on the face allows the injector to know the likely locations of the arteries to avoid. Hope that helps

Answer: Injectable Fillers and Risk You are wise to be concerned abut the safety of your injections, but there is no device that will insure a safe treatment. As you know, there are complications secondary to fillers, including swelling, bruising, infection and yes, unfortunately, there have been cases of blindness secondary to the occlusion of an artery, not a vein. Although there is never a guarantee, it is best to see a doctor with great training and years of experience. You will have a greater chance of a safe and aesthetically pleasing result.
