I have had a beet red area for many months on the chin. The surgeon kept ignoring it on follow up visits, and finally has stated, after me pointing it out, that it is an infection and prescribed cephalaxin. It does not hurt, not even to touch, and I think it is an inflammation due to an allergic reaction to the implant material. What can I do to stop the destruction of the soft tissue, and how to restore my appearance as I am now VERY self-conscious about the huge cleft that is developing.
