Are there lasers that are safe to use close to the lash line? (Photo)

When I treat the lower eyelid area with a CO2 laser, I always go right up to the lash line. This does require using protection for the eyes though. Metal shields are placed over the eyes to protect the area from the laser.

The laser treatment that can easily treat the skin right up to the lash line is CO2 resurfacing, such as the SmartSkin CO2 laser. If treating the full eyelid a corneal shield is often placed for extra protection, but if it is the lower lid primarily we just pull the skin down so that we are treating it without any energy directed near the orbit. Expect to do 2 or 3 sessions but the collagen made will last for years. Downtime will be for a handful of days.
