I had a rhinoplasty almost one month ago and the as soon as the doctor took of the splint i noticed my eyes looked different...almost scary different. As time passes the swelling has gone down but its still swollen to me. It makes me look weird especially in harsh lighting. Also, its worse in the morning and better at night. I was just wondering if this will ever go away? I want my eyes to look like before but I'm a little scared. I'm talking about the distance horizontally between my eyes.

Answer: Swelling between eyes post-rhinoplasty This is not uncommon following rhinoplasty surgery. Swelling differs in severity between individuals and can take up to a year to fully subside as the tissues normalize. As a precaution, be sure to bring your concern up to your surgeon. I expect you'll see the swelling decrease consistently over the next few weeks.Good luck!

Answer: Eye changes after rhinoplasty What you are experiencing is not totally uncommon. When you augment the nose, the shadowing can change how far apart your eyes look. If you raise the bridge, it will accentuate the shadowing and may make the eyes appear closer together. if you reduce the height of the bridge, it reduces shadows and can make the eyes seem more widely set. A higher dorsum also makes the nose look more narrow and a lower dorsum may make the nose look wider. You are still early in the healing process and i would just continue to observe everything. Bring your concerns up with your surgeon and they should be able to explain further. Best of luck
