Removed too much skin during upper eyelid surgery (Photo)

Question

Hi I had upper eyelid surgery about 7 years ago. During surgery surgeon removed too much skin and so I can't close my eye completely. Also the scar looks terrible too. I'm asian, and saw a lot of koreans got upper eyelid surgery without any scar. If you can help me please let me know. I prefer Chicago and LA area surgeons thank you

Thank you for sharing your question. Sorry to hear about your unusual problems. Most people heal quite well following blepharoplasty. Your scatting is not normal, but might be revised by an experienced Oculoplastic Surgeon who is comfortable with Asian eyelids and managing complications. Good luck.

Thank you for sharing your photos.  Typically, eyelid scars heal very well even in Asians (we typically don't scar well!), and it is difficult to discern after 6 months to a year.  Scar revision can be done, but not advisable when there is a paucity of skin.  As you age, you will have more excess skin on your eyelids and it may be safer to do a revision at a later time.  I really think you should consult with a board certified plastic / oculoplastic surgeon who specializes in Asian blepharoplsty in person to discuss your options.  Best wishes.
