I had them placed a year ago and did not have this problem. I don't have sensitivity to hot and cold foods just when I am exposed to air. They are sore after I go for a walk or run outside and it's windy.
Answer: Sensitivity Most likely your gums have receded a little bit above the margins of the veneers exposing a little bit of the root of the tooth. This root was not designed to be exposed to the outside environment, so it does not have the enamel protective covering on it. Frequently, sensitivity can be dealt with by applying fluoride varnish or other desensitizer and using a desensitizing toothpaste such as Sensodyne.I recommend not just brushing with it, but actually putting it on your finger or a Qtip and rubbing it in along the gumline of the sensitive teeth. Do not rinse afterward;let it stay on there. Initially this should be done at least 2x a day. As the sensitivity deceases, then go to once a day and eventually you may not need it at all or only if the sensitivity flares up again. Avoid abrasive toothpastes that say for whitening or tartar control as they may exacerbate the sensitivity.
