If I change my veneers would it effect my teeth?

I’m curious why he would say a
minimum of 8 months? If you’re not happy with the way they look now, why
wait 8 more months to be unhappy with them? Often times, I will have
patients wait a couple of months to give them a chance to evaluate a change in
length of the teeth with veneers, but if they look fake now, they are not going
to suddenly improve after a certain time period. If you don’t like them,
have them changed. Especially for your wedding photos!

It is certainly OK to change them at this time.  You have to understand that will be some alteration to the tooth, no matter how careful the dentist is upon removal.  The more conservative the dentist is, the less likely that he/she will alter the underlying tooth structure.  Make sure you communicate exactly what you want to accomplish.  It may be necessary to alter the tooth structure depending on your new goals.  There will be no difference with waiting time.  The only difference is which dentist you select.

Any time any dental procedure is done potentially can affect your teeth. We use a microscope to minimize the affect of removing any more tooth structure than necessary.  We can usually see and feel the cement layer underneath the previous porcelain veneers which alerts the dentist that just cement remains.
