Hi - I was severely bruised from my Lipo. My surgeon was aggressive since I had little fat to begin with, but now I'm over 13 weeks post and have discoloration, irregularities/cellulite, discoloration, and scar tissue which feels like a hard rod in places he went deeper. Surgeon says just continue to massage and will go away but I haven't seen any improvement in 6 weeks. Any other suggestions for discoloration and the hard rod like vertical scar tissue?
Answer: VASER Hi Definition Liposuction / Body Contouring with Fat Grafting -- HI DEFINITION REVISION This looks like permanent irregularities and discoloration (erythema ab liposuction) from the aggressive nature of the procedure. I suggest you speak to your physician. unfrotunately the only treamtents now are non invasive such as venus legacy, vanquish and z wave -- which we do in my office immediately after hi definition procedures. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Vaser liposuction recovery Thank you for providing photos for reference. As you heal, the suctioned area may feel “lumpy” and irregular. This decreases with time and massaging those areas will hasten their softening. If it is indeed a scar tissue, it is not a permanent fixture in the body. Have your doctor check if proper healing has taken place and that scar tissue massage is appropriate. If you massage a scar that is not fully healed, it can cause damage to the developing scar tissue which can delay healing. Please do remember that improvement will continue for 4–6 months as swelling and irregularities resolve. These contours can even improve throughout the year after surgery. Just be sure to follow your surgeon's instructions as to caring for yourself during #recovery (such as wearing garments) for best results. If you have any concerns at all about your healing process, do not hesitate to contact your surgeon. Learn more about recovery for vaser liposuction on the web reference below. Answer: Vaser "Hi-Def" healing Thank you for your question and photos. It is unusual for "hard" firm areas to still be so obvious 3 months after a procedure, but the areas where your surgeon worked more aggressively (i.e., all the areas where the indentations are supposed to be) will definitely take longer to heal than other areas and although unusual, it is not unheard of for firm swelling to last this long after a Hi-Def procedure. Often the midline from the umbilicus and up will feel more like a "rod" than an indentation due to excessive swelling and inflammation in the regions that were treated more aggressively. It may take 6 months or more for these areas to return to normal. Rarely, this can be scar tissue and not inflammation. In that case, treatment options are more limited, but at this point in your recovery, it is too early to say that, as you should still experience more skin tightening and resolution of swelling. Voice your concerns to your surgeon and follow up per his/her recommendations.

Answer: Post HD irregularities Thank you for your question and photos. It looks you have a few desirable and non desirable effects of HD Vaser:Hollows and grooves repeating natural contours of your abdominal muscles . That is the aims of HD Vaser .The 'grooves' between muscle groups can heal with some fibrotic (scar like) attachments to the underlying fascia. Patient also might develop some skin darkening also can occur then most of the fat layer is removed -this is called post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation.All the problem will improve but can take 6-12 months and will require input form your surgeon. Try to work with him and obviously use good skin care and exercise regimen.
