Am I a candidate for Orbital Decompression?

Hi i wanted to know if i am best candidate for Orbital Decompression? Will i be benefit from it? I dont have graves and thyroid disease. Im not really happy with the appeareance of my eyes. Is there any treatment that can help my buldgy eyes smaller? I need some opinion before i make my decision. Thank you

Orbital decompression is a very effective option to reduce genetic protruding eyes but has some risks. There are other complimentary options as well such as lower orbital rim implant, with its own limitation. Best to see a experienced oculoplastic surgeon for evaluation and discussion of options. There is a lot of hype about decompression surgery, but carefully consider all options.  I feel comfortable saying this having done thousands of these operations- do not take things lightly but have a complete evaluation.
Some people have very prominent eyes. Often this is caused by a medical condition called graves disease or thyroid eye disease.  But often it is due to trauma or just being born that way.  This can be quite concerning for many people in that it makes them appear intense or not normal.  Many patients ask if there is anything that can be done and in the past the answer was not too much at least safely
  
Now that is untrue. We specialize in moving the eyes back or improving this bulging appearance for patients. This is specialized surgery that very few doctors would offer but our group has done thousands of these surgeries and our patients are very happy. In fact most find it life changing as you can find out from our patients.    Not everyone has bulging eyes and NOT everyone needs a decompression so it is important to customize the process.  Surgical and nonsurgical options are available
You should have an evaluation by a qualified oculoplastic surgeon for evaluation.
