Implant rupture and my clinic has closed down - who should I consult? My general practitioner? (photos)

Question

Hello, I had an uplift with implants in 2015. I haven't had any knocks or falls but I have developed a painful swelling in my armpit the last few months and my left breast has developed multiple lumps and a large crater like dimple under the breast along with persistent redness. My clinic has since closed down and I am unable to contact them. Shall I head to my GP? I am unsure of where to go. Thank you.

I would recommend going to another board certified plastic surgeon who can do an exam or a doctor who can request an MRI, which would tell you whether you have a rupture or any other concerning pathology.

Your primary care physician can order an ultrasound or MRI examination to evaluate the integrity of your implants. For a more definitive diagnosis and any treatment options, it would be prudent to see a board certified plastic surgeon in a timely manner.

you can contact your GP but you will need plastic surgeon in order to have them removed or replaced. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

I'm sorry to hear of the issues you are having.  I encourage you to schedule a visit with a board certified plastic surgeon near you.  It is okay that this won't be the same person who performed your surgery.  You can also visit your GP, but eventually you will need to see a plastic surgeon about your concerns.
