Chemical peel for electrolysis scarring (red marks/pebbly skin/mild wrinkling-type look/tiny holes and pores? (photo)

May 17, 2013

My chin area bothers me so much! It's so uneven looking from the rest of my skin.  It's darkened a bit, has scarring, and looks wrinkly really up close.  I had aggressive electrolysis done when I was younger.  I am 35 and just want a smoother look without the discoloration look (which I believe is from both the scarring and some discoloration).  I have a consult with a board-certified derm tomorrow and have no clue what to expect.  I had a microdermabrasion done many years ago which did absolutely nothing (had only one treatment but I could tell I needed something a little more significant).  I had one Obagi (I think, or TCA peel) peel which didn't do much. I don't even remember my skin peeling afterwards. I posted in the laser resurfacing forum yesterday but honestly, I am way afraid of lasering my face.  I was wondering if a chemical peel would help with my issue, maybe a series of a few? Any ideas? Or would I absolutely need something more aggressive?
