One course of accutane has been completed but my acne coming back. I was on Accutane for 9 months, results were perfect but 3 months later I started getting tiny bumps on my forehead so I was prescribed Differin. My skin is still progressively getting worse where I have spots all over my face and neck and I've been patient and waited 3 months to see if the cream will work. I feel heartbroken as I thought it was the end of my 14 year acne journey. Do you think I can get re-referred to a dermatologist?

Great questions! We sometimes see elevations in triglycerides in patients on Accutane, and sometimes there are elevated total cholesterol levels. As long as you get an accurate fasting lipid panel and watch it carefully, you probably will be fine. I would work closely with your dermatologist...
It is best to do the facelift first followed by the accutane as accutane can affect skin healing. The months duration will depend on what dose of accutane you are planning to use however I would generally recommend waiting a minimum of 3 to 6 months before beginning treatment.
