Would you recommend nasolabial fold filler or cheek filler (or both) for me?

My nasolabial folds have gotten more pronounced in the past year and looking for advice on how to decrease their appearance in a natural way. Would it be best to get filler in the folds themselves or in my cheeks (or both)? I am very unhappy with my current appearance and would like to do something to improve it if possible.

I would begin by filling your cheeks. By providing a good foundation in the cheeks it gives support to the lower face which can create a lifted look to the folds. If after filling your cheeks you are still unhappy with the appearance of the nasolabial folds, then I would go in with a small amount of filler to the area. Be sure to see a trained professional. Volume loss in the mid face is a natural part of the aging face. It can create a flattening of the cheeks, make the eyes appear deep set, and create deep folds in the nasolabial region. When addressing these areas I will often start by addressing the volume loss in the cheeks first. When the cheeks are full the nasolabial folds often are lifted and that can be enough to create the desired effect for a patient. If there is still a need to fill a bit around the folds then a little filler can go a long way.  If a person were to only fill the folds and ignore the volume loss in the cheeks there is a risk that the result will be a mouth that is pushed forward and can look somewhat like a primate. Ultimately, I would suggest scheduling a consultation with an experienced injector who can see you in person, discuss your individual concerns, and help you develop a personalized treatment plan. Thanks for the question - Looking at your pictures, the nasolabial lines themselves don't appear to be ageing your face prematurely, but they may be more pronounced than previously due to a little bit of volume loss in the cheeks.
So to answer your question I'd personally go for a subtle cheek lift to begin with and I think that would likely reduce the depth of those lines nicely.
