Lipoma, liposuction and fat transfer?

Question

I'm very interested in getting fat transfer from my trunk and flanks to my hips/buttocks area. I have multiple small lipoma around these areas. I'm scared that if I do this, they will spread and form in my hips/buttocks area after the procedure or worst, turn into cancer! Should I have these removed before lipo? I've had various removed over the years and they always came back benign lipomas.

Hi, thank you for the question... Generally patients after liposuction, the lipomas usually shrinks.. there is no problem in combining  these procedures.

I've done many patients liposuction using VASER (Ultrasound-Assisted Liposuction) and regarding lipomas, you can generally shrink the size of the lipoma, but they are very hard to get rid of with liposuction alone.  A benefit to liposuction first, though, is it significantly decreases the size of the incision required to remove the lipoma, often by as much as 75%.  I've done this with many of my patients, coming back later to excise them through much smaller incisions than would have been required had I not done liposuction first!
