I had a bad case of cc and got implants removed a few years ago. I have since had strattice repair to fix animation deformity. I am planning to get fat grafting to smooth everything out. I was wondering how successful FT will be given that I can feel a lot of scar tissue in my breast still. I’ve been trying to massage. Is there anything else I can do?
Answer: Interested in fat grafting post explant but have lots of scar tissue. How successful would it be? Scar tissue can interfere with surgery in the sense that the plastic surgeon may have more difficulty navigating around the involved area.

Answer: Options with Theraputic US Thank you for your question. I would recommend that you find a board certified plastic surgeon that performs Therapeutic Ultrasound ( for scars ). Ultrasound can produce many effects other than just the potential heating effect. It has been shown to cause increases in tissue relaxation, local blood flow, and scar tissue breakdown. This may help with your future FT.

Answer: The Bellesoma No Vertical Scar Lift Most women who undergo explant alone are dissatisfied with the hanging skin and require a lift. The technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation and the ability to breast feed are maintained, if not injured during your previous surgery. At the same time or later, fat transfers can be performed if additional volume is desired.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Fat transfer Dear ElizabethJ,fat transfer breast augmentation is a viable alternative for women who desire larger breasts without the use of implants. Fat transfer is also widely used in reconstruction of the breast after a mastectomy or lumpectomy. It can also be very effective in correcting the size and shape of the breasts due to genetic problems such as tuberous breast or Poland Syndrome, two conditions that look like misshapen or underdeveloped breasts. In addition, the following scenarios are also reason to consider breast fat grafting:• If you have chest areas that appear creased and sunken• If you desire more permanent correction than is provided by temporary fillers• If you wish to improve your body contour, revise scars, fill bodily depressions and rejuvenate the natural curve of your breasts• To fill in contour irregularities or hide obvious signs of breast implantsYou should discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon and make sure your surgeon understands your concerns and your breast augmentation goals. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: Fat Transfer Hey! Fat transfer should help replenish lost volume and refill the breasts. Sometimes you need serial fat transfers. This combined with massage and cupping should help. A formal examination would be needed to provide you further recommendations.
