I had my arms lipoed and transferred to my hip dips.. he transferred the fat too high so my dips are more prominent but told my that he didn’t that I was always like that and the fat he transferred probably reabsorbed. now at 6 weeks my arms are still hurting to touch and I’m discolored and bumpy. Did I make the worst mistake of my life and go to the wrong doctor or is this normal?
Answer: Is it normal to be still in pain and discolored at 6 weeks post op? Did I go to the wrong doctor? Thank you for your question. It is normal to have swelling at this point in your recovery - it can sometimes last for up to six months. As far as the fat transfer, this particular procedure, while a great option in some cases, is hit or miss. Success depends on the skill and experience of the surgeon performing the procedure, as well as whether the grafted fat was able to anchor itself to a sufficient blood supply. If not, it will reabsorb. If you are concerned with the progress of your healing and results, I recommend scheduling a follow-up with your surgeon. Also keep in mind that it is important to always choose a board certified plastic surgeon who is experienced in whatever procedure you are planning to undergo. Good luck!

Answer: Swelling after Liposuction & After care includes RF treatments (Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra) Cellutone/zwave, hyperbaric oxygen It is too soon to tell what your final results will be. You will have swelling and/or bruising, which can last 3-6 months after your procedure. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
