How soon can a patient have sex after smart lipo in the abdomen and flanks?

I would suggest waiting at least 7 days.  If the activity does not hurt during or afterwards, then you may do it.  Be sure, however, to wear your compression garment for at least 2-4 weeks.

I typically tell patients to wait 7-10 days for any sexual activity or strenuous exercise.  If it hurts, don't do it.  A little discomfort is normal and typical for a few weeks after surgery.  Take it slow, feel your body out, you know what you can tolerate and what you cannot.  Most of my patients are still wearing compression garments for 2-4 weeks after surgery, to help keep the swelling at a minimum and speed up the healing process.  It is best to speak to your physician.  Best, Dr. Emer.
