am 19 years old and I weight 142 pounds. My bra size is a 32L (American Sizing) and 32HH (United Kingdom sizing). I have medicaid right now and would love to have a breast reduction surgery. I haven't had back problems yet but my shoulders and under wire area kill me, both get sore, red and hurt for hours. Bras are expensive when they're that big. I attract the wrong kind of guys that just offend me all the time. I'm tired.
Answer: Breast reduction candidate Hello Stephanie,Based on your description you are suffering with very large breasts that are causing you problems. I'm sorry to hear that you're having such a difficult time, but please know you are not alone. There are many young women in your situation that have the same physical and emotional distress that you are experiencing. Medicaid may cover a breast reduction surgery but they do have very strict criteria that have to be met in order for the surgery to be approved. Their decision is based upon your physical exam, symptoms, primary care doctors treatment of issues due to your breast size (eg. creams, physical therapy, antibiotics, etc), photos of your breasts, and finally your plastic surgeon's assessment. These are all submitted to Medicaid and they make their determination.Reduction surgery decreases the volume of the breast tissue and reshapes and elevates the breast on the chest wall to create a smaller but still aesthetic breast. Based upon your description you may benefit from this surgery. I would recommend meeting with a plastic surgeon who participates with Medicaid for a full in-person evaluation and exam to discuss your concerns and goals so that you can together come up with a plan to improve you symptoms.Best of Luck!Dr. Rednam

Answer: Breast Reduction In Teens Breast hypertrophy in teen aged women can be treated with breast reduction surgery with the understanding that future pregnancy could result in recurrent breast hypertrophy. Additional breast reduction surgery might be necessary. I have performed this surgery on many teen aged women and they are among the most satisfied of plastic surgery patients. Neck, shoulder and back discomfort is relieved and they are able to be more physically active. Buying clothes and bras is also much easier. Please see a plastic surgeon in your area who is certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery.

Answer: Breast reduction Hello dear! Thank you for your question. Breast reduction It is a safe procedure, in which your plastic surgeon will reduce the amount of breast tissue, reshape your breasts, raise the nipple-areolar complex to its appropriate position (possibly making the size smaller, if needed), and ultimately ameliorate the possible complaints that you do have for the reason that you are having this procedure (e.g., neck/back pain, migraines, rashes/infections, etc)."Sometimes a woman with very large breasts will know instinctively that the extra weight on her chest is causing the problems but just as often she doesn't recognize the connection and sometimes that can lead to years of unnecessary suffering,"Consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon who will discuss the procedure with you, examine, and assist you after talking about your goals and concerns. Good luck :)

Answer: Breast Reduction Large breasts may not only interfere with your physical ability to function in daily activities but can be emotionally burdensome as well. From what you describe you are a candidate for a breast reduction. Breast reduction surgery removes excess breast tissue and reshapes the contour of the breasts so that they are smaller and perkier. It is possible to do a breast reduction with a minimal scar technique and can also be done as a outpatient procedure under twilight sedation. It's important to be sure expectations are realistic and you have an understanding of the commitment needed for the healing process. Make sure that you understand the nature of your surgery, the recovery process, and that you feel comfortable and emotionally ready to make these changes to your body. I suggest you make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon who will examine you and go over your surgical options in detail.
