Radio Frequency treatment can reduce nasolabial folds ?

Hello. I am looking for a non-invasive treatment for nasolabial folds. Can a facial Radio Frequency treatment indeed increase collagen/elastin production in the face and help reduce the nasolabial folds ? Thanks

Nasolabial folds are best treated with a filler- this can be a hyaluronic acid or fat. Radio frequency devices do not treat this area well. It can produce some skin tightening but will not show significant results.

A combination approach would give the most improvement. Radiofrequency can help with skin tightening, but I also recommend fillers for the folds themselves but also lifting around the mouth and cheeks to build underlying anatomical support. In our practice we combine sculptra with other fillers "layered" on top and lasers, rf treatments, J Plasma and peels to get the most conservative natural look. Please see a facial sculpting expert. The most effective way to impact the nasolabial folds is through volume replacement. An examination will reveal whether you could benefit from mid-face (cheek bone area) volume or direct nasolabial fold volume or a combination of both. Skin tightening with an RF device will offer enhanced results though building and tightening collagen, however the impact will be less than volume restoration with a filler or fat transfer.

I would say that the Infini, or any RF device will only minimally correct the NLF. Filler is the key to correction of this area. Alternatively, fat transfer can be done to lessen the NLF.

Minimal if any correction if that is your primary concern. Strategic fillers will address NL folds. RF and other devices can every so slightly reduce the appearance of the fold, but that is via secondary methods and not the primary aim. All the best, Davin Lim
